Marine Components International show new product developments from Calypso Instruments on stands J295A – J295B
Calypso Instruments has been recognised for its innovation and has received a special mention at the METS International Trade Show Dame Award. Their innovative approach has continued and for the first time at the Southampton International Boat Show, Marine Components International will be showing the latest NMEA2000 solid-state wind sensor (anemometer).
At last a solid-state wind speed and direction sensor can be directly connected to an NMEA 2000 network, display or chart plotter without the need for a gateway or range extender. The Calypso Ultra-Low Power Wired NMEA2000 Ultrasonic Sensor can be directly wired into any NMEA2000 network (backbone), display or chartplotter as it outputs an NMEA 2000 signal as standard.
You can simply plug the Calypso ULP Wired NMEA2000 Ultrasonic Anemometer directly into the NMEA2000 network (backbone) or chartplotter/display and choose Calypso ULP Wired NMEA2000 Ultrasonic Anemometer as the wind source in the chartplotter/display settings, a simple fit and forget solution that delivers highly accurate and reliable wind data.
Installing the sensor is extremely easy and can be easily mounted to a yachts mast using varied mounting options including, aluminium and carbon fibre masts (33cm & 1m lengths) and an L shaped offset mast mount.
Built using the latest solid-state ultrasonic technology the Calypso Ultra-Low Power NMEA2000 Wired Sensor delivers many advantages over conventional cup and vane anemometers which have moving parts such as ball bearings that can bind with age or get easily damaged when hit by birds or fouled by ropes.
The Calypso Ultra-Low Power Wired NMEA2000 Ultrasonic wind speed and wind direction meter (anemometer) is designed to directly connect to an NMEA 2000 network, display or chart plotter without the need for a gateway or range extender. The sensor can be directly wired into any NMEA2000 network, display or chartplotter as it outputs an NMEA 2000 signal as standard.
Calypso has taken a completely innovative approach to the design process of an anemometer, reducing size, weight and power consumption to a minimum. The impressive result is a range of compact wind sensors that are ideal for use within the marine market.
The complete range of Calypso Wind Sensors will be available to view and our expert team will be on hand to demonstrate each model and help specify a solution for your boat.
