2023 Prize Competition
The Organiser of the competition is: Southampton International Boat Show Limited (Company number: 01247541) of Tagus House, 9 Ocean Way, Southampton, England, SO14 3TJ.
2.1. The title of the competition is “Win A Boat”
2.2 The competition is a prize competition under which entrants are required to exercise their skill and knowledge in answering a marine related question in order to try and win a Ribeye A600 rigid inflatable boat, further details of which are set out in paragraph 5 below.
3.1. The competition will run from 09:00:01am on Monday 28th August 2023 to 23:59:59pm on Sunday 1st October 2023 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
3.2. All competition entries must be received by the Organiser by no later than 23:59:59pm on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3. To enter the competition, entrants will need to pay the applicable entry fee and:
3.3.1. complete an online entry form in person at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023 (the “Show”) by following the online instructions provided by the Organiser and/or the Organiser’s employees or agents; or
3.3.2. enter the competition online by submitting the online entry form provided on the Organiser’s Show website by the Closing Date.
3.4. The Organiser will not accept:
3.4.1. responsibility for competition entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind;
3.4.2. responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause; or
3.4.3. proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
3.5. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.1. The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except:
4.1.1. employees or officers of the Organiser or its holding or subsidiary companies;
4.1.2. employees or officers of any agents or suppliers of the Organiser or its holding or subsidiary companies, who in each case are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
4.1.3. members of the immediate families or households of those persons above.
4.2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Organiser may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3. The Organiser will not accept competition entries that:
4.3.1. do not comply fully with these terms and conditions;
4.3.2. are completed by third parties or in bulk;
4.3.3. have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
4.3.4. photocopies and not originals; or
4.3.5. incomplete.
4.4. There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.5. In the event that a person submits more than one entry to the competition:
4.5.1. the Organiser shall only accept the entry that is submitted earliest; and
4.5.2. all subsequent entries (and the answers provided in such entries) shall be invalid and disregarded by the Organiser for the purposes of this competition.
4.6. In the event that an entrant selects more than one answer to the competition question in submitting their entry, the whole entry to the competition shall be invalid and disregarded by the Organiser for the purposes of this competition.
4.7. The Organiser reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.8. In no circumstances shall the Organiser be required to refund an entrant for any sums received (including entry fees), unless the competition is cancelled in accordance with clause 10.2.
4.9. Competition entries cannot be returned.
5.1. The prize is a Ribeye A600 rigid inflatable boat (Rib) with a Yamaha 130 horse power engine and shall also include a rollerglide trailer.
5.2. There is no cash alternative for the prize. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
5.3. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
5.4. The prize is supplied by Ribeye Ltd (Company number 03626994) whose registered office is at 4 The Bight Boatyard, South Town, Dartmouth, Devon, TQ6 9BU (the “Supplier“).
6.1. All Competition entrants who have correctly answered the competition question (and who have not been otherwise disqualified) will be entered into a random draw from which a single winner will be chosen (the “Draw”).
6.2. The Draw will be supervised by an independent member of the Organiser’s board of directors on Monday 2nd October 2023 (“Draw Date“)
6.3. The decision of the Organiser and outcome of the Draw is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.4. The Organiser must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Organiser will publish the surname of the prize winner on its website on 2nd October 2023 (“Announcement Date”).
7.1. The Organiser will email the winner on the Announcement Date, using the email address provided with the competition entry.
7.2. If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 7 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by contacting the Organiser. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.
7.3. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.4. The Organiser will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 7 days of the Announcement Date, the Organiser reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.5. Once the winner has claimed the prize by contacting the Organiser within the time period specified in clause 7.2 it shall have a further 14 days to make arrangements with the Organiser and the Supplier to collect the prize in person from the Supplier’s premises at 4 The Bight Boatyard, South Town, Dartmouth, Devon, TQ6 9BU (“Collection”).
7.6. If the winner has not completed the Collection within the time period specified in clause 7.5, the Organiser reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.7. The Organiser does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
7.8. The winner is responsible for arranging Collection and for its own travel to and from the Collection location. It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure that they have insured the boat prior to Collection. The Organiser is not responsible for providing any insurance.
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Organiser, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Organiser or that of its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
The Organiser will only process your personal information as set out in the https://www.southamptonboatshow.com/privacy-policy/. See also condition 6.4 with regard to the announcement of the winner.
10.1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Organiser may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
10.2. The Organiser reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
