Women in Marine is back

Following the success of last year’s event, we are excited to announce that Women in Marine, is returning this year with new speakers, topics, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

We very much hope you can join us to celebrate Women in Marine Day on Thursday 19 September 2024.

Sessions and presentations open to all

Throughout the day there will be a series of engaging talks from leading figures in the industry taking place on the Foredeck Stage.

Our host this year will be Hollie Smith, Operations Director at Navis Consulting, Founder of Boatbuilding News and host of the popular Boatbuilding News: The Podcast.

Already confirmed to join Hollie on stage are:

Hannah Stodel – Four-time Paralympian (Sailing), Triple World Champion, Motivational Speaker and Coach, will be sharing her personal sailing experiences and her thoughts on inclusivity in boating.
Sophie Horn – Founder and Chairman at SeaBird Technologies and head designer of the RaceBird, the race boat of electric powerboat championship E1 Series will be speaking about her journey to far with Seabird and the launch of E1.
Rowan Wood – having sailed over 20,000 sea miles with her family, by the age of 18, from the Greek Islands in the Mediterranean to Raja Ampat Islands in the Indo Pacific Region, Rowan will be speaking about why it’s so crucial we encourage the next generation to embrace the cruising lifestyle and how we can make it happen.

Panel and Networking Session

Join us on the water for the ever-popular Women in Marine Panel and Networking event.

For the first time ever we will be hosting the Panel and Networking event from onboard the Ocean Scene, Blue Funnel’s mini cruise ship, on Thursday 19 September (16.00-18.00).

Boarding from 16.00 and setting sail at approximately 16.15 from berth M382 in the marina, the session will feature a panel discussion, hosted by Hollie Smith, where our panellists will be discussing topics centred around the theme ‘Empowering tomorrow: Inspiring the next generation and shaping our future’.

Once back alongside following the panel discussion at approximately 17.15, there will be drinks and nibbles available and the opportunity for you to network with your peers from across the industry.
